About
Jake is an Associate at The Hustead Law Firm. Jake began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Justice James A. Rice of the Montana Supreme Court in Helena, Montana. After completing his clerkship, he transitioned into private practice in Denver, working first at a prominent defense boutique and then at a general civil litigation practice.
Jake received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Wyoming in 2015. During his time at Wyoming, he was a three-year starter on the offensive line and was appointed to the team’s leadership council. After graduation, Jake spent time utilizing his mathematics degree, first as a teacher through AmeriCorps and next as an operations and logistics analyst. He then attended the Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia on scholarship, graduating with honors.
Jake is admitted to the Colorado State Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Jake was raised in the Denver area and returned to Colorado to be closer to family. In his free time, he enjoys staying active by cycling, trail running, and fixing things around the house. When he isn’t on a move, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife, Ellen, and their families.
